Cary Zel, President and Co-Founder, ProCirc
Cary relocated to Miami to start ProCirc in 1993 following stints in Consumer Marketing at Time Magazine and Scientific American. He also was the circulation director at Art & Antiques,. Cary has grown ProCirc to its current level of over 50 magazines with a staff of over 20 circulators. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has served on the Kable Client Advisory Board.
Marc Passarelli, Managing Partner & COO, DJG Marketing
Prior to joining parent company DJG Marketing, Marc was the Senior VP, Sales and Marketing, for Inflight Newspapers Inc. In addition to his responsibilities at DJG, Marc is President of Waiting Room Subscription Services (WRSS) and is one of the leading authorities on public place distribution for the magazine industry today.
Mark Peterson, President, ProCirc Retail Services Group
Prior to forming ProCirc Retail, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer of Vanguarde Media. Previously, Mark was President of a Primedia publishing division and SVP of single copy sales for all Primedia magazines. Prior to that, Mark was responsible for single copy sales for Hearst and Murdoch Magazines.
Frank Ruiz, VP Operations, ProCirc
One of the first circulators to join ProCirc, Frank used to oversee all consumer marketing efforts for ProCirc clients. In his current position three important operations areas are under his management: production/promotion (direct mail, print buying), information services (reporting and modeling) and fulfillment. Prior to joining ProCirc, Frank was the International Marketing and Subscriptions Director at Editorial Televisa, managing the circulation of 19 magazines.
Shawne Burke Pecar, VP Consumer Marketing, ProCirc
A veteran circulation professional with over two decades of experience, Shawne Burke Pecar joined ProCirc following a dozen years as Vice President of Circulation at IDG, publisher of PC World and Macworld magazines. She grew PC World’s circulation, making it the most-widely read computer magazine in the world. In both manager and director roles, Shawne has built the circulation for an array of magazines over the years, including: Parenting, Home Magazine, Hearst Magazines – Colonial Homes, Connoisseur, Harper’s Bazaar, House Beautiful, Motor Boating and Sailing, and Town & Country. She has served on the ABC Magazine Directors’ Advisory Committee and the DMA Circulation Council Operating Committee. Shawne is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
Scott Hill, Senior Vice President, ProCirc Retail Solutions Group
Prior to joining ProCirc RSG, Scott was the Vice President of Retail Sales for Hanley Wood LLC, where he was responsible for Hanley Wood’s consumer magazine and book circulation. Previously, Scott was the Director of Single Copy Sales for Primedia’s Consumer Magazine Group and McMullen Argus Publishing. Scott started his publishing career with Reader’s Digest.
Jim Motrinec, Senior Consumer Marketing Director, ProCirc
Jim joined ProCirc from Outside magazine where he was Consumer Marketing Director and directed all marketing, management, budgetary, and operational activities in their circulation department. Prior to Outside, Jim served in several key circulation positions at Emmis Publishing including Subscription Director and Circulation Manager for Texas Monthly, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis Monthly.
Laura Vail, Senior Consumer Marketing Director, ProCirc
Laura came to ProCirc after many years as Subscription Marketing Director for Business Week spearheading their marketing database among other initiatives. Prior to that, she served as Circulation Director for CMP Publications working on the launches of four of their titles.
Lee Franklin, Consumer Marketing Director, ProCirc
Lee joined ProCirc from Clapper Publishing where she was Subscription Director. Lee has over 25 years experience with circulation driven, consumer paid titles, as well as with B2B publications and newsstand annuals. In her career, Lee has held senior positions at Primedia, Maher Publications, Arizona Highways, MVP Media, and Kable Fulfillment.
Dale Jacobs, Fulfillment Director, ProCirc
Dale has been with ProCirc for more than ten years, working with all the major magazine fulfillment companies, plus some in-house systems. She and her department handle the renewal and billing schedules, issue label pulls, inventory management, and holiday promotions for ProCirc clients.
Carlos L. Garcia, Director of Information Services, ProCirc
Carlos has been with ProCirc since 1996. He developed the current reporting system that is used for all ProCirc clients. He also was an Account Executive for three years working with Garden Design, Saveur, Bassmaster, Weight Watchers Magazine, American Prospect, and Wine Enthusiast. Prior to joining ProCirc, Carlos worked in accounting for six years.
Cindy Lagrange, Promotions Director, ProCirc
Cindy has been with ProCirc since 1998, and manages the production functions and promotional spending for all of ProCirc’s clients. She and her team are responsible for print purchasing, lettershop, and merge/purge operations with hands-on experience with most of the major printers and service bureaus in the industry. Prior to joining ProCirc, Cindy held positions at two South Florida advertising agencies working extensively with clients, in-house creative departments, and outside vendors.
